Dachser at the Düsseldorf fresh food trade fair trio

24/08/2010

The internationally operating logistics provider, Dachser, is again attending this year’s international InterMeat/InterMopro/InterCool trade fairs. At its exhibition stand in Hall 15, the company will present the products and services of Dachser’s Food Logistics business segment under the motto “Creating the highest quality throughout Europe”.

Operating a pan-European logistics network, Dachser Food Logistics in cooperation with 13 partners ensures uniformly high quality standards at 85 locations Europe-wide for the procurement and distribution of foodstuffs.

The international InterMeat/InterMopro/InterCool trade fairs are being held from 12 September to 15 September 2010 in Düsseldorf. Some 900 international exhibitors from 30 countries will showcase successful concepts and trends in the fresh food sector. The food trade fairs concentrate on the fresh food segments dairy, meat and sausage products as well as frozen foods. Aimed exclusively at the trade, the fresh food trio attracts trade buyers, sales and marketing managers in the food sector, as well as representatives from the retail, trade and industry sectors, and large-scale consumers. This year, the “Inter” trade fairs will focus particularly on sustainability and corporate social responsibility.

“Sustainability is a key element of our corporate culture and plays an increasingly important role in the food industry,” says Alfred Miller, managing director of Dachser Food Logistics. In addition to ecological considerations, the company also focuses on social and economic aspects. At its exhibition stand (Hall 15; Stand A25), Dachser will be showing with the help of concrete examples how the company assumes this responsibility both in its strategic planning and its day-to-day operations.

In 2009, the internationally operating logistics provider generated total revenue of EUR 3.2 billion. 17,500 staff working in 306 profit centres worldwide handled 41.8 million consignments weighing a total of 29.4 million tonnes.
